Mastectomy
Mastectomy is a surgical procedure that is done under general anaesthetic to remove all breasts’ tissues to have masculen chest. Sometimes it is done fort he patients who have breast cancer to remove the cancer tissue. There are diffent types of mastectomy:
- Simple or total mastectomy: All parts of breast tissues will be removed by surgeon and no need to remove the lymphatic glands under armpits or muscle removal.
- Modified Radical Mastectomy: All breast tissues and lymphatic nodes will be removed by surgeon and no muscle will be removed.
- Radical MAstectomy: all the breast tissues and lymphatic nodes and muscles under the breasts wll be removed by surgeon.
- Partial Mastectomy: Some part of breast tissues will be removed by surgeon.
- Nipple Sparing Mastectomy: All the breast tissue will be removed by surgeon, but the nipple will be left.
Treatment Duration
This surgical treatment takes 3-4 hours.
Hospitalization
Will hospitalized 1 night in the hospital and the day after the surgery will be discharged.
advantages
It is a way to remove the breast cancerous or breast tissue to have flat chest.
Possible Complications
In some of the techniques will leave big scar under the chest.
Note: After the surgery will need to use compression medical garments to prevet of swelling and disshaping of the nipples. For 1 month heavy sport is forbidden.
